Come experience what I dare call my method of meditation... Now, I ain't saying I'm a guru... There is just something melodic and hypnotic, about the rhythmic clicking of needles and the feel of the yarn running through the fingers. My mother and grandmother passed on knitting, crocheting and more to me... I want to share it with all those willing to try. You will be equipped to cast on and off stitches, knit and purl and try several stitching patterns- as many as time permits. It's my goal to focus on technique and build repertoire for you to make your own 'choreos'... Go at your own pace... these are ongoing series of sessions facilitated by Carla. You will learn and practice stitches and begin your collection of swatches and patterns- these are great references later... as you progress and design.

The idea is to create dream catchers with context, either for yourself or as a gift for someone you care about. While combining all the pieces of your dream catcher, think of that concept or person you are creating it for...Context is the significance, intention, or meaning that the maker or receiver attaches to it. During the 3-hour workshop, Jessica will instruct you on how to do the commonly known web design of dream catchers, but keep your minds open and explore other ways to create a beautiful catcher out of recycled and donated fabrics and supplies. We encourage you to bring your own trinkets or fabrics you have been hanging on to but maybe don’t know what to do with. I also suggest researching dreamt catchers to see the different styles and approaches you might want to take.

DeHypnosis: Creating freedom from negative trances and beliefs that limit our life
We all have certain beliefs or “trances” which we act as if were real and affect what we allow ourselves to do or say. It could be the self-deficiency story of I’m not good enough, I’m an X type of person so I’d never be able to do Y, or I’m my own worst critic. These negative trances can severely limit our opportunities and experience of life. How can you create a successful relationship if you think you’re not good enough? How are you going to enjoy life fully if you hold yourself back? Other people put enough limits on you, so why would you do it to yourself? Design your life for you!

Xochitl de Urban (Xó) was born in Chihuahua, Mexico and has lived in three different continents where she has found art among their cultures, colors, and climates. She identifies herself as a “global nomad” who has adapted her Latin American background by mixing diverse stylistic elements.
Xó de Urban photographs oxides and urban corners around the city of Berlin. Her art consists of pieces of the wall, abandoned factories, torn posters, among other urban objects.
During her path around the world, she was fascinated by graffitis that decorate the city walls and by all the forgotten and colorful elements in the surrounding spaces, such as rain -wasted advertising posters, torn by time and weather elements.
Xó is multifaceted and her motto has always been “There is life in everything; matter never dies” For her, perspective and constant change are decisive.
